February 2024
Year 6 have enjoyed using their Design Technology skills to create textiles. This work brings to an end our History unit on the Mayans.
The children used weaving techniques to create a God's Eye - used to symbolise each year of a child's birth, as well as some simple mini loom weaves.
I think they look amazing - well done Year 6

Y6's Class Assembly

Thank you to the parents and family members who attended our class assembly today.
As part of our English work this week, the children have been studying different types of poems. We concentrated on poems which can be performed and the children worked in groups to come up with their own ways of performing their given poem. All of the class produced their own poems for the 'Young Writers' poetry competition which will be sent off next week and some children wanted to read theirs aloud for our assembly.
I think that the children did a fantastic job with their poems, creating actions, taking account of pace, rhythm and volume and performing in front of a large audience.
